As the 9th-12th grade Community Day School within the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, our mission is to help students who have experienced failure in other schools to accept responsibility for their actions, believe in themselves, and learn to set and achieve goals. We believe that all people can change, and that in a tightly structured, caring, democratic, student-centered environment, most youth will change negative behaviors. Once students experience success, they may return to more traditional programs or graduate from New School with better self-knowledge, improved academic skills and an eagerness to be lifelong learners. Our motto is: Hard times can make you stronger.
